Initial Consultation-Skin Lesion Removal
Required before treatment
Service Description
An initial consultation with Dr Gemma is required before treatment to assess whether the lesion is suitable for cryotherapy. This booking is for the consultation only. If the lesions are deemed suitable, an additional charge of £50 can be paid on the day for the treatment of up to 3 lesions. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can schedule the treatment at a separate time following the initial consultation. Most lesions usually only require one treatment, however if an additional treatment is required a charge of £50 will apply for each subsequent treatment. Cryotherapy is a highly effective treatment for various skin conditions, including skin tags, actinic keratosis, seborrheic keratosis, lentigo, molluscum contagiosum, verrucas, and warts. Cryotherapy utilises the power of extreme cold to freeze and destroy abnormal skin cells, promoting healthy skin regeneration. If you have more than 3 lesions, please contact clinic for a bespoke quotation. Conditions Treated: - Skin tags are small, benign growths that commonly appear in areas where the skin folds, such as the neck, armpits, and groin. They are usually flesh-colored and have a small stalk. - Actinic Keratosis: is a rough, scaly patch on the skin caused by years of sun exposure. It is considered a precancerous condition that can potentially develop into skin cancer if left untreated. - Seborrheic Keratosis: is a common, benign skin growth that often appears as a brown, black, or pale wart-like lesion. It typically occurs in older adults and is non-cancerous. - Lentigo: refers to small, flat, brown spots on the skin, often caused by sun exposure. These spots are benign but can sometimes be mistaken for melanoma. - Molluscum contagiosum: is a viral infection that leads to small, raised, pearl-like papules or nodules on the skin. It is contagious and can spread through direct contact. -Verrucas (Plantar Warts): are warts that occur on the soles of the feet. They can be painful and are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). -Warts: are benign skin growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). They can appear anywhere on the body and are typically rough and raised. - Benign moles/naevi: if there are any concerns regarding the lesion, the Map My Mole service is advised.
